Candidate VIP Program

Why Partner with the Teldar Group VIP Program?

Are you ready for a new job? If you are reading this article, you probably are. But who has the time to look for a new job? It is a lot of hard work and takes a lot of time. And even if you did have the time, good luck getting your resume to the hiring manager. If you send your resume to a Fortune 500 company, it goes into their database of 500,000 resumes never to be seen again. Recruiters are a good option. However, they are only going to call you when one of their clients is specifically looking for your background (We have 5,000 candidates and only place a small percentage of them every year. And we are probably the largest search firm in procurement). And even then, the company is choosing you, not you choosing the company.

What you need is an agent like a professional athlete or a movie star. You need someone out there pounding the pavement marketing your services to companies that you picked, not the other way around. Now, maybe you can have own Jerry McGuire.

The Teldar Group is starting a new VIP candidate program.

Starting in January, each of our recruiters will pick two candidates each month that they will exclusively market to the procurement world. They will spend 15-20 hours per week presenting them to Fortune 500 companies with the goal of securing these candidates a new position based on their criteria. This amounts to only 2% of our candidates on an annual basis. Needless to say, this will be a very exclusive and highly selective program.

What do you get?

1. A recruiting firm that is networked to almost every CPO in the Fortune 500.
2. A recruiter specialized in procurement, working 15-20 hours a week on your behalf.
3. Have your profile included in our monthly VIP email to Fortune 500 CPOs & directors.
4. It’s free to candidates.

How do I Qualify?

You don’t need to be a CPO to get into our VIP candidate program. We are looking for candidates at all levels including buyers, commodity managers, directors, and VPs. However, there is a strict criterion we employ to pick candidates. They include:

1. Motivated to leave. We are looking for people that truly want to find a better opportunity. If you just want to kick the tires, this program is not for you.
2. Realistic career expectations. Don’t expect a big promotion in your next job. Realistically, you can expect a small incremental jump in role and responsibility, but not a huge leap. For example, if you are an individual contributor, don’t expect your new role to manage people. However, if that is your goal, that next role should have a clear path to managing people in your next assignment.
3. Realistic salary expectations. Procurement professionals get between a 6-8% increase in salary when they make a career change. While we will do our best to get more than that (the more you make, the more we make), candidates shouldn’t expect more than that.
4. Willing to relocate. Procurement is a national field. If you live in Des Moines, IA, there probably aren’t many specific procurement positions that fit your background. We need candidates that are mobile. The more places you are open to moving, the better chance you have of landing a great opportunity.
5. Willing to work. Even though we will be doing most of the work, you need to help. This will most likely include adjusting your resume, identifying companies you want to work for, etc. You will be an integral part of your search effort and be expected to contribute. Your time commitment will be 2-4 hours per week.
6. Exclusivity – The Teldar Group is devoting an enormous amount of resources in these candidates. We need candidates to commit to working exclusively with us while we market you (typically one month).
