A significant role with high visibility, the incumbent will join a procurement team with considerable responsibility in a profitable company.  A move towards more centralization and a commitment by the CEO to let sourcing have increased control means high visibility for those in the procurement focus.   The incumbent will provide direct management for creating competitive advantage by bringing synergy to the sourcing process and leveraging market presence.  This will include defining the company’s supply base, and providing various supply market analysis, forecasts, and strategies.  The scope of the role and of the company provides future mobility within the organization for those who perform.

Responsibilities

-    Facilitates highly specialized and multi-disciplined resources to redesign sourcing and supply chain processes to better support key business units across the company
-    Provides leadership to Sr. executives and operations management about sourcing opportunities to capture the greatest cost savings
-    Acts as an advisor to Sr. executives on the selection of suppliers and facilitates extensive market research and internal data collection
-    Establishes/ Directs strategic sourcing objectives to sustain continuous cost reduction programs for the company’s largest controllable expenditures
-    Develops/ Facilitates relationships with major players in the marketplace to understand and stay abreast of industry changes which may impact various business management programs as it relates to pricing/technical trends and new products
-    Utilizes economic and market trends within assigned disciplines to develop long and short term sourcing strategy for implementation by applicable program owners
-    Benchmarks with leading supply chain practitioners, internal and external, to identify and develop world class practices and methodologies in supply chain optimization, e-commerce and systems utilization

Qualifications/Requirements

-    Bachelor’s degree/equivalent in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, purchasing, economics, math, MIS or related discipline.  MBA preferred.
-    Seven years professional experience in economic/financial analysis, operations program management, supply market experience, or cross-functional team leadership with emphasis on reducing large expenditure’s cost and improved service to internal/external customers.  Knowledge of “Client” supply chain operations preferred.
-    Experienced in business process reengineering and program/project management.
-    Demonstrated command of complex sourcing, negotiating, and commodity strategies. 
-    Good planning, analytical process mapping and statistical skills.
-    Strong PC skills with demonstrated expertise in MS Office suite including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Access and Project management software.
-    Strong human relations and communications skills.
